Fire Levy Renewal for Residents Living Outside of 1st Consolidated Fire District

Every five years, Canaan Township asks for the renewal of a 2.5 mil levy to pay for fire protection for those residents who live outside of the 1st Consolidated Fire District. This includes most of the residents in the southern half and in the northeastern quarter of the township.

The levy generates dollars to pay Iberia Joint Fire District and the Village of Mount Gilead for fire protection. All of the dollars received from the levy are paid to these two departments. Only Canaan Township residents living outside of the 1st Consolidated Fire District will vote on this levy on November 3, 2020.
