Throughout the year, Canaan Township Trustees focused on responsible fiscal management, public safety, infrastructure improvements, and community partnerships. In January, the Trustees accepted the amounts and rates as determined by the Morrow County Budget Commission, authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the County Auditor. This ensured proper funding levels were in place to support township operations and services. February brought a triennial review

On November 4, 2025, voters in Canaan Township participated in elections to decide on various levies and elected officials. The township's 2.5 mil fire levy was due to expire on December 31, 2025, having been maintained at the same rate since 2015. Following extensive discussions with Chief Mark Carey of the Mt.
