Welcome to new Trustee Matt "Chunk" Carwell

January 2018

We are pleased to welcome a new face on the Canaan Board of Trustees, Mr. Matthew Carwell. Matt "Chunk", as known to his friends, and his wife Teresa, reside in central Canaan Township on County Road 70.

Matt is a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School and is currently employed with the Morrow County Highway Department.

We look forward to a great working relationship with Matt and believe he will be a wonderful asset to the residents of Canaan Township.

Matt takes the seat of retiring trustee, Billie Pangborn. Billie began her tenure as a trustee in 2005, after the death of her husband, Gary Pangborn. Gary served from 1994 until his death in 2005. Gary was appointed after his mother, Mildred Pangborn, became too ill to serve. Mildred became a trustee in the early 1980's after the death of her husband, Michael Pangborn. Mike began his tenure as a trustee in the early 1970's. Hats off to the Pangborn family for nearly 50 years of dedicated, hard working,public service to the residents of Canaan Township!
